Counting Down!

In fourteen hours, the nightmare that has kept me from a solid night’s sleep in a little under a week will finally come to an end, but who’s counting? Naturally, I am – though neither my range of math skills (minimal) nor desire to calculate the distance between us time-wise (even less) is as vast as M’s. When we spoke a couple of days ago, he gave me the exact number of seconds it would be before we’d see each other again. I suppose when you have that much time on your hands, there’s not much else to do besides count it! Though the prospect of calculating the numerical timeframe of one’s confinement seems more like hell to me than prison… but that’s just me.

Ah, so now my (slightly less mathematical) countdown has begun and the waiting game drags on just a little longer, though regardless of how close in proximity midnight is, it still feels like a lifetime away. But just think… that absurdly large number that M arrived at is ever constantly dwindling down, even as I sit here typing. If only there was a way to fast forward through it! Nevertheless, there is patience in the waiting, and my faith that God will bring something great out of our unfortunate set of circumstances has all the more increased.

There are many lessons to be learned from this unsettling turn of events, patience and perseverance hardly among the least of these… and the soothing benefits of math (or internet sites that do it for you!), of course. Only 48,600 seconds to go, not that I’m counting or anything!

Just wanted to check in on you and see if you were ok. Seems like the long wait is almost over and I'm happy for you and M.

My son went to court today and the judge was leniant. Just took every dime he had in his pocket and told him to get $200. more to the court by Fri. at 5 PM. He did start a job last week and will be getting his first pay check Friday and we all know where that is going. Don't get me wrond, he needs to support his child. However, I think that the judge should leave him a little something to live on, but the decision is not mine. At least he won't be sitting in jail! Thank the Good Lord for that.

Now that M is out, perhaps the two of you can begin anew and build a stronger realtionship and find the love and comfort that you both need. GOD BLESS!

We're very thankful this trial will soon end and we'll continue to remember you all, the little one especially.

Thank you so much!

ahh... if only internet counters were as reliable as time itself... it seems that the site has as much mathematical ineptitude as i do.. good thing i still have fingers to count on... and a calculator just in case :)

I hope your reunion is sweet and that issues can be worked through so this doesn't have to happen again! Way to hang in there!

I know sometimes patience is the hardest thing we can have, but what I would suggest is this:

Fill your time up doing things you love.... spend time with family & friends. Make yourself BUSY........because you WILL count the hours, minutes and seconds before he comes home.............

Get a hobby- if you don't already have one... Just keep your mind and heart occupied right now.

I hope you're okay. :)

oh, you're so right. fortunately, i've kept my mind occupied today... and i left PLENTY of chores for myself when I get home... this way there's no time to sit around calculating.

btw.. 8 hours, 27 minutes and some odd seconds left LOL :)

Will you be picking him up when his time is up and he gets out?

I'm sure he will be thrilled to see you and hold you in his arms, probably just as much as you will feel being in his.

Keep the faith

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Your dawn is coming!

Counting the time would drive me nuts, It's better for me to occupy my time as much as possible and the time will run off more quickly and then I can say - the time really flies.
